Walk and Workshop
Not-only-Olives experience
At Olive Valley Walks, we’re flipping the script. If you’ve swiped past olives your whole life, this is your moment. Introducing our fynbos-focused “Not an Olive Experience”—a sensory adventure that starts with nature and ends with something delightfully unexpected.
A Journey Through the Heart of Fynbos
The Boland’s granite fynbos is a tapestry of endemic flora— found nowhere else but here in the Western Cape. On this short guided walk, guests reconnect with the rhythms of the Cape Floral Kingdom: inhaling buchu’s crisp aroma, identifying honeybush shrubs, and hearing the soft rustle of mountain fynbos all around.
From Walk to Workshop: Buchu-Infused Marzipan
After the walk, the fun begins. Watch, learn—and get hands-on—as we teach you to extract buchu essence and press the oil-rich marzipan into art:
-
Buchu marzipan: Bold and aromatic
-
Honeybush marzipan: Sweet with floral notes
-
Rooibos marzipan: Smooth, warm, unmistakably Cape
Discover how humble almonds transform into creamy confections, enriched by South Africa’s treasured botanicals.
Tasting & Light Bites
We’ll round off the session with a curated tasting experience. Enjoy your freshly made mini-marzipan confections paired with carefully selected snacks—no “lunch included,” yet always satisfying and memorable.
